iT'S OFFiCiAL!

Science Made Simple has begun! The topic for February is:

 

WHAT iS A GENE?

Eligible entries will:

  • Consist of a short paragraph (500 words or less), infographic, animation, video, or diagram (or something else capturable in two dimensions... be creative!)

  • Must explain the topic of the month IN A WAY THAT WOULD BE UNDERSTANDABLE TO A MEMBER OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC (think 5th grade and up)

  • 100% Designed and created by Northwestern University students, faculty, or staff*

  • Submitted to scipolicy.nu@gmail.com on or before 5pm, 28 February!

  • Be anonymized by a designated SPiN representative and judged by SPiN's leadership board and advisory committee

 

Winners will be announced in the first week of March!

  • First Place entry wins $20 gift certificate to Amazon, publication of their explanation on the SPiN and Science in Society websites, and eligibility for our end-of-the-year Science Made Simple Science Fair

  • Second and Third Place entries will be published on our website and entrants will be eligible for the Science Made Simple Science Fair
